The Global Fellowship Scheme
The Global Fellowship Scheme provides prestigious awards to enable talented scholars from around the globe to spend anywhere between one week to a month at St Andrews. Staff in Schools and Units can nominate Global fellows (Education).
Global Fellows (Education) are recognised as leading practitioners and researchers in the field of education and pedagogy; they will have demonstrable experience of innovative educational reform, the enhancement of student learning, and the implementation of education strategy.

£500 Santander University Staff Development Grants
Applications are now open for the Santander University Staff Development Grant – to support university staff across the UK to invest in their professional development.
Santander is offering 100 grants of £500, which can be used to support a wide range of career-enhancing opportunities.
What can the grant be used for?
- Training courses and certified learning
- Conferences and events
- Professional membership or accreditation fees
- Travel and accommodation (where linked to an event or conference)
Who can apply?
- 18+ and employed at a UK university in any role, full-time or part-time
- Applications for activities taking place within 12 months
- No need to be a Santander customer
How to apply
Register for free on Santander Open Academy if you haven’t already. Log in, click ‘Get Started’ and complete the short entry form. Grants are awarded by random prize draw from all eligible applications.
